Up to Date Title Information

At the start date of your license you will have access to content from that year, plus the four previous 'backfile' years. Content continues to build providing the license is renewed.

Full functionality of ScienceDirect is available to users, including all abstracts, full-text searching, CrossRef, linking and personalization.

Provided on a monthly basis.

Electronic access fee is a percentage of the print price for subscribed print journals (in addition to the fee). See Elsevier print pricing catalogue.

A commitment from the customer to maintain the collection qualifies for price caps and other benefits/discounts.

E-only access is offered at a discount on the print subscription fee.

Transactional access is discounted.

Price cap on the maximum increase on the subscribed journal collection is in place.

Corporate customers are charged a platform fee.

Backfiles, Books, Freedom Collection and Subject Collections can be purchased or licensed at existing prices.

Archival rights are included for fully subscribed journal and book series content only.

If you choose to cancel your ScienceDirect license, continued access to the journal and book series content previously subscribed to is possible:

• An annual access fee based on previous year's subscribed content downloads at $0.081 per downloaded article
• Price adjusts in each successive year based on usage.
• Per article price increases with inflation in future years assuming no fundamental change in business climate.
• Current year content, or content not covered by the archival clause is available on a transactional basis.
• Full ScienceDirect functionality is available.
• Continued access customers may purchase backfiles and subscribe to reference works, but cannot subscribe to A&I databases, journals or book series without restarting a ScienceDirect license.

If you choose to cancel your ScienceDirect license but do not want to take part in the continued access program, the e-files for the subscribed content may be purchased at cost price.
