Urban & Fischer on ScienceDirect
Elsevier acquired Urban & Fischer in 2003. During 2004, the ScienceDirect team worked to ensure that as many of the 37 journal titles were made available to customers as soon as possible.
We are pleased to announce that all current issues of the 37 U&F English language journals on Agriculture and Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine and Science & Technology are now available online.
Although ScienceDirect has a dedicated team of people focused on migrating customers as smoothly as possible, the conversion and processing of customers’ subscription data is expected to continue well into 2005.
To ensure that subscribers have uninterrupted access to the content they subscribe to and do not suffer any inconvenience, ScienceDirect will provide the following access possibilities, for the migration period (January – December 2005) only:
- Urban & Fischer customers with valid access rights will continue to have access to content from 2000-2003 via Ingenta.
- Urban & Fischer 2004-2005 issues are available on ScienceDirect with no electronic content fee being charged for the migration period only (January – December, 2005).
Please note, however, that to ensure consistency in your access throughout 2005, the yellow "complimentary" icon displayed on ScienceDirect will appear by these titles even though they are not "free".
Current Urban & Fischer customers that have a ScienceDirect Freedom or Subject Collection should not experience any interruption in accessing ScienceDirect during this migration period.
We sincerely hope that none of our customers experience any inconvenience during this migration period.
